Green
Egg and Ham Anyone?
R. Attili
It’s Big, it’s Green,
and it looks like an Egg, what else could it be
but The Big Green Egg, Grill-It-Yourself newest
smoker, grill, oven combination.
“The Big Green Egg has an
ancient history and a cult following” says
Leigh Strand owner of Grill- It- Yourself. The
BGE started with the 3000 year old Asian cooking
principle of the clay kamado cooker. BGE utilizes
specialized ceramic in their construction. “BGE
construction ensures superior heat retention and
temperature control.” states Leigh,”
The seal of the BGE is so tight it holds in all
the heat, smoke and flavor. It’s very similar
to cooking in a brick oven. Once you taste the
difference you will not only want one, but you
will feel like you need one.”
The ceramic construction of the
BGE not only gives the benefits of superior cooking,
it also stays cool to the touch on the outside,
and in SW Florida’s harsh wet climate it
will NEVER, EVER rust.” Leigh says with
a knowing smile.” It could be the last smoker/
grill you will ever need to buy”
That’s where the cult following
comes in. “Owners of the BGE are a fiercely
loyal group.” adds Leigh. “For every
BGE cook-out, there is a future BGE owner. Once
we placed our Big Green Egg order, we have been
inundated by calls of people wanting one”
